BSF organises cricket tournament for youth in Handwara

Kupwara, May 27: A three-day cricket tournament concluded with a win in the finals by Waskhura Cricket Club on Monday afternoon. The tournament was organised by BSF’s 26th Battalion at its headquarters in Handwara.

The tournament was organised under a civic action programme in which a total of four teams participated. The tournament was played from 25th May to 27th May.

   

The final match was played between the Waskhura Cricket Club (WCC) and the Melyal cricket team. WCC after opting bat first scored 131 runs in 16 overs, in reply Melyal cricket team was bowled out on 96 runs, and with the result WCC won the match by 35 runs.

Both teams were awarded with trophies, medals and cricket kits.

Commandant ADM Sector Headquarters Kupwara BSF I H Khan, Commandant 26 Bn BSF Lienzakai Sitlhou, Adjunent 26 Bn BSF Vijay Kumar and other officers were present on this ocassion.
