Himalayan Brigade flags off 37 athletes for Wushu competition

Baramulla, Dec 20: The Baramulla Rashtriya Rifles, under the aegis of the Himalayan Brigade on Wednesday organised a ceremony to flag off the 37 Wushu warriors for the upcoming 17th Jammu and Kashmir Wushu Championship.

The ceremony was held at Bipin Rawat Stadium Baramulla.

   

Brigadier Suhas Mate, Commander Himalayan Brigade, flagged off the bus carrying the young athletes on their journey to Jammu for the UT level competition.

The selection process, described as arduous and demanding, required unparalleled dedication and countless hours of rigorous training from the 37 athletes, comprising both boys and girls, hailing from the picturesque Baramulla district. These athletes, now on the cusp of representing their district at the state level, are a testament to the hard work and commitment invested in their pursuit of excellence.

Addressing the gathering, Brigadier Suhas Mate congratulated the selected athletes, urging them to showcase their skills on the grand stage of the 17th J&K Wu-shu Championship. He highlighted the personal triumph of each athlete as a collective celebration of the efforts invested by coaches, mentors, and the community at large.
