Army organises yoga sessions across Kashmir

Srinagar, June 21: The 10th International Day of Yoga with the theme “Yoga for self and society” was celebrated with full fervour and enthusiasm, at various locations in Kashmir Valley today in a collective spirit of health, wellness and unity.

The Indian Army organised yoga sessions for the troops deployed at far flung areas under extreme weather conditions and rugged terrains with the aim of spreading awareness of the benefits of yoga as a practice to promote physical, mental and spiritual well-being.

   

Yoga was conducted all across Kashmir valley alongwith Badami Bagh Cantt in Srinagar. “Local Kashmiri populace and Civil administration collaborated closely with the Indian Army contributing significantly to the grand session of the event,” Army said.

The successful conduct of the event across the Kashmir Valley displays the resolve of local population to “embrace peace and tranquility of the region and also the steadfast dedication of the Army to nurture social cohesion and peace in the region.”
