2 dead, 3 hospitalised after falling unconscious in Kupwara well

Kupwara, May 29: A pall of gloom descended in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district after two persons died while three others were shifted to a hospital when they fell unconscious while cleaning a well in Kralpora area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

An official said that three labourers who were cleaning a well in the Satboin Dardpora area of Kralpora stopped responding to calls from the owner.

   

Sensing the emergency, the house owner, along with another person, went inside the well.

However, they too fell unconscious.

“By the time locals assembled at the site, they immediately launched a rescue operation and evacuated them to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Kralpora, where doctors declared two as dead,” he said.

Among the deceased include Farid Ahmad Khoja and Bashir Ahmad Khoja while those hospitalised are Safeer Ahmad, Qasim-ud-Din and Abdul Hameed.

They are undergoing treatment.
