Amazon enabled exports from India to surpass $13 Billion by end of 2024

Srinagar, Aug 14: Amazon has launched applications for its Future Engineer Scholarship Program, targeting female students pursuing undergraduate degrees in computer science or related fields.

A statement said that the initiative aims to support 500 young women with scholarships of Rs 2 lakhs each, disbursed over four years.

The programme goes beyond financial aid, offering mentorship from Amazon employees, a 10-month technical bootcamp, and paid internships at Amazon after the second year. Scholars will also receive laptops to facilitate their studies.

Akshay Kashyap, India Lead for the Amazon Future Engineer Program, emphasised the initiative’s goal to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity, particularly for underrepresented communities.

The scholarship programme, which has supported over 1,200 girls since its inception, has already placed 198 interns at Amazon in various roles. The application process, closing on October 31, 2024, will select candidates based on academic merit, financial need, and leadership potential.

Eligibility criteria include being a female student pursuing an undergraduate degree in computer science or related fields, demonstrating academic excellence, and having financial need.
