Baramulla, Mar 31: Cracking a whip on illegal mining of minerals at Shrai Tangmarg and Kunzer Baramulla, Police have seized 6 tippers and 3 tractors, besides arresting 6 drivers.
A police party under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg assisted by SHO PS Tangmarg and SHO PS Kunzer, seized 9 vehicles (6 tippers and 3 tractors) and arrested their drivers identified as Nisar Ahmad Malik, Ab Hameed Kumar, Ab Hamid Kumar, all residents of Pariswani, Firdous Ahmad Magray , resident of Chandil Wanigam, Nisar Ahmad Rather and Shabir Ahmad Rather, both residents of Ganibaba Kunzer, Abdul Hamid Mir resident of Mangloora, Fayaz Ahmad Reshi, resident of Paraswani and Ali Mohammad Lone, resident of Karhama.
They were found involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals and accordingly cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in PS Tangmarg and PS Kunzer and investigations have been initiated.
