Srinagar, Nov 19: Residents of Lal Bazar staged a protest today, to register their resentment against persistent power cuts.
The agitated residents assembled inside the local receiving station, raising their voices in unison to demand immediate action from the administration.

The protest was marked by residents expressing their discontent with the current power situation, emphasising the discrepancy between assurances made during the installation of smart meters and the reality on the ground.

According to the protestors, the administration had guaranteed round-the-clock power supply after the installation of smart meters.
“We were assured that smart meters would ensure continuous power supply, but the ground reality is far from what was promised. We are facing frequent power cuts, disrupting our daily lives,” said a resident leading the protest.

The residents called on the administration to fulfill their commitment and address the power supply issues plaguing the area. They stressed that the prolonged power cuts were adversely affecting essential services, disrupting household activities, and causing inconvenience to the community.

Protestors urged LG Manoj Sinha to intervene promptly and rectify the situation, ensuring that the residents of Lal Bazar receive the uninterrupted power supply they were promised.
