Coalition experiments have always failed in J&K: ANC

Jammu and Kashmir Awami National Conference (JKANC) senior vice president Muzaffar Shah on Thursday said that BJP’s decision to pull out from the state government has once again proved that such arrangements have always been a failure in J&K and give rise to political uncertainties making Kashmir unstable.

Shah said this while addressing a press conference in Srinagar on Thursday.

While requesting the Governor NN Vohra to make sure the life and property of the people of the state are safe in these “grim times”, he questioned the Kashmir policy of Prome Minister Narendra Modi.

“PM says that people of Kashmir needed to be embraced with open arms while some leaders of his party talk about going for all out war in Kashmir,” Shah said.

“I want to ask PM does he love the people of state or the land and is he willing to go for an all out war in Kashmir,” he said. “I want to ask PM that is he in charge of Kashmir policy or those people from his party who talk about going for all out war in Kashmir?”

He also said that both India and Pakistan have failed to solve the core issue of Kashmir from past 70 years and it is time to let people of all regions across LOC sit together and solve the issue.

“By all regions I did not mean only Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh, but also the regions of Gilgit and PaK across LOC as they are also part and parcel of the state. Two nations of India and Pakistan have tried for 70 years to solve Kashmir issue with no results, let them give the people of the state one year, I am sure we will do better,” he said.

Muzzafar Shah said that JKANC during 60s pitched for a five region summit that was to include people from the both sides of borders irrespective of religion and ethnicity and all fronts agreed upon that.

“We want to start the same process once again as given the prevailing situation, it is responsibility of everyone to pitch for such initiatives so that the core issue of Kashmir can be resolved,” he said.
