The District Election Officer Anantnag Khalid Jahangir today convened a meeting of the officers to review the assured minimum facilities (AMF) at polling stations.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Anantnag,ADCs, JD Planning, Executive Engineers of R&B, PHE & PDD, ExecutiveOfficer MC Anantnag, and EROs & AEROs.
It was given out in the meeting that 189ramps are under construction in the polling stations by RDD for thespecially-abled voters. The DEO directed the RDD to gear up the machinery andcomplete all under construction ramps immediately.
The R&B Department was asked to take upthe execution of ramps in municipal areas. With regard to drinking waterfacilities, the Executive Engineers of PHE Division Qazigund and Bijbehara weredirected to provide drinking water facilities in all polling stations withinweek’s time. The DPO Anantnag was directed to ensure that all polling stationsmust have functional toilets. Likewise, PDD Department was directed to completeelectrification of polling stations within two days by using quality werematerial.
The DEO emphasised upon all the officers toensure AMFs within time frame so that voters can exercise their franchisee.
