Dogri language represents great Indian culture, traditions: Sinha

Jammu: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Saturday released a collection of Dogri poetry ‘Udan Khatola’ penned by Chanchal Bhasin at the Raj Bhavan.

An official spokesman in a statement issued here said that congratulating Bhasin for her book, the LG said that Dogri language represents the great Indian culture and traditions.

   

He appreciated Bhasin’s contribution in the field of Dogri literature.

The LG said that different genres of literature not only express the imagination and creativity of an author but also represent the core values and beliefs of the society.

He stressed the need for spreading the rich heritage of Dogri art and literature among the younger generation in the modern context so that they take traditional values to greater heights.

Bhasin’s poetry collection comprises 55 poems in Dogri.

Sahitya Akademi awardees including Padma Shri Jitendra Udhampuri, SSP Shailender Singh, Prof Veena Gupta, Prof Lalit Mangotra, Mohan Singh, Sunita Badwal, and Rohit Bassan were present on the occasion.
