Inter-district attachments of 10 medical officers, two health workers cancelled in Rajouri

Authorities in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir have initiated action over inter-district attachments of medical officers and health workers to offset the shortage of manpower in the health sector.

An official spokesman of Rajouri district administration said that the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad, who is also chairman of District Health Society, today cancelled attachments of 10 Medical Officers and 2 Female Multiple Purpose Health Workers (FMPHWs).

“All of them, engaged under National Health Mission and then posted in the district to supplement and augment Public Healthcare facilities, were on attachment outside the district for past many years,” he said.

Out of the 10 Medical Officers, six were attached in different health institutions of Jammu district, and one each in Budgam, Kulgam, Poonch and Baramulla districts, whereas both the FMPHWs were also attached in Jammu district, he said.

In the order, the administration has warned these employees to join back at their respective places of posting within a week’s time, failing which their contracts could be terminated.
