Mountaineering Association Ramban elects new office-bearers

Banihal, Jan 18: District Mountaineering Association Ramban conducted elections for its district body and executive members at Banihal on Wednesday.

The elections, held under the supervision of Dilshad Ahmad, an avid adventure enthusiast from the region, saw active participation from adventurers and trekkers representing various parts of the Ramban district.

   

Syed Abdul Mohsin, Joint Secretary of the Mountaineering Association of Jammu and Kashmir, served as the observer for the elections, ensuring a fair and transparent process.

The elections witnessed unanimous selections, with all office bearers and members elected unopposed. Imtiyaz Latief Itoo emerged as the elected president, Ghulam Rasool Padder as vice president, Aarif Muzaffar as general secretary, Mukhtiyaar Ahmed as Joint secretary, and Danish Iqbal as treasurer. The executive council includes Umair Rather, Edvs. Mohammad Asif, Er. Naveed Ahmed, Murfat Ara, Rehana Iqbal, Bazila Mushtaq, and Touseef Ahmed.

Addressing the gathering, President Imtiyaz Latief Itoo, a seasoned traveller and adventure enthusiast, expressed the association’s commitment to uplift adventure sports in the district. He thanked all participants for their involvement and urged them to work with zeal and passion for the advancement of adventure sports, highlighting the district’s untapped potential.

Vice President Ghulam Rasool Padder emphasised the importance of motivating youth towards adventure sports, particularly in an era dominated by mobile and societal challenges.
