OUTREACH PROGRAMME: Advisors Vyas, Kumar inspect ongoing dev works in Kupwara

Advisors to Governor, B. B. Vyas and K. Vijay Kumar, today visited the frontier district of Kupwara as part of the outreach programme to get a first-hand appraisal of ongoing developmental projects and ensure redressal of public grievances there. 

The Advisors also interacted with various public delegations who apprised them about their grievances, problems and developmental requirements, an official handout said.

   

The delegations apprised the Advisors about the developmental demands related to road connectivity, water supply, power scenario, healthcare and sanitation, solid waste management, repair of street lights, completion of languishing projects, and renovation of drainage systems.

Besides, demand was raised by the delegation for bus stand at Regipora, IT Skill Development College at Trehgam, Bangar-Gund bridge, effective water distribution network for Trehgam, and Mini-Secretariat for Trehgam.

The deputations also demanded Police Sub-Division for Trehgam, creation of industrial estate at Margi Tangchak Dardpora, Power Grid Stations at Hayatpora, Kalaroos and Kuligam, completion of Kupwara Stadium, Staff for MC Kupwara, and MRI machine for SDH Kupwara, and fencing of G&B Hostel Zangli, the statement said.

The Advisors gave a patient hearing to the deputations and assured time-bound action on the projected demands after holding discussions with all concerned departments. 

Later, the Advisors accompanied by officers of the district administration visited the dairy unit at Batergam being managed by Women Self Help Group. They also inspected the Sports Stadium at Galizoo and interacted with the sportspersons there. 

Member Parliament, Fayaz Ahmad Mir interacted with the Advisors at Galizoo and demanded better connectivity to the stadium via Lolab road through the construction of a bridge. 

The Advisors also inspected Pandit Colony Natnussa and playfield Natnussa where they directed the authorities to mobilize men and machinery for better sporting facilities towards youth engagement. 

Earlier, Vyas and Kumar chaired a meeting at Handwara to review the progress of various ongoing developmental projects.
