Suspected militants attacked political activist in Madin Sahib area in old city here, police said on Wednesday.
A police officer said militants fired a volley of bullets on party activist, Sajad Mirza affiliated with Janata Dal (United), while he was heading to meet his parents in the area. However, Mirza escaped unhurt in the incident. He said personal security guards of the activist also fired some shots in the air.
The police party was rushed to the area, however attackers managed to flee from the spot, he added.
