Jammu, May 18: NDRF and SDRF personnel Saturday, following a day-long operation, fished out the body of one of two youth, who drowned in Tawi river at Kishanpur-Manwal in Jammu district on May 17 evening.
Officials said that the duo, identified as Abhikash Thakur, son of Ranjeet Singh and Rajinder Singh, son of Jugal Singh, both residents of Kishanpur-Manwal of Jammu district drowned, late Friday evening, while taking bath in Tawi river.
“Officials of Police, civil administration and SDRF teams immediately rushed to the spot after getting this news from family and other locals, who found their clothes and mobiles on the banks of the river. Search operation was launched. NDRF teams also joined the search operation. Deep-divers too accompanied the search teams,” they said.
“After a day-long search operation today, the body of one of the youth, Rajinder Singh, was retrieved from the deep waters. Search operation was still underway to trace the body of Abhikash,” they said.
