3 killed in Jammu road accidents

Three persons were killed in three different roads accidents in Jammu region.

A truck driver lost his life while two others sustained injuries in a road accident in Ramban on Srinagar- Jammu National Highway on Wednesday.

Police sources said a truck bearing registration number PB35Q-4481was on its way from Jammu towards Srinagar. When it reached near Dalwas the truck collided with a dumper bearing registration number JK 19A-0166 from the rear side. Due to the impact of collusion both the vehicles overturned.

Police said in this incident a truck driver died on the spot whereas the driver and helper of the dumper (tipper), sustained injuries.

The body of the truck driver and the injured were shifted to District Hospital Ramban.

Later Police identified the deceased driver as Manjeet Singh, 50, son of Balwant Singh resident of Model Town, Shiv Nagar, Pathankot Punjab.

Police identified the injured Dumper driver as Mohammad Akram and Bahar Ahmad both residents of Sumber Ramban. Doctors said the condition of both the injured is stable.

SHO, Police Station, Chanderkote, Inspector, JS Rakwal confirmed the incident and said a case FIR, number 68 of 2024, under section 279/304(A), was registered at Police Station Chanderkote for further investigations.

A minor girl died after being hit by a truck near the Court Complex area of Banihal on Srinagar- Jammu National Highway on Wednesday.

Police sources said a rashly driven truck bearing registration number JK19-5790 on its way to Srinagar from Jammu hit a minor girl near court complex Banihal. She was immediately rushed to Sub District Hospital Banihal where doctors declared her dead.

Police identified the deceased minor girl Saboori Rafiq Daing, 16, daughter of Advocate Mohammad Rafiq Daing resident of Dharpata, Neel, Banihal. The deceased girl was studying in the eleventh class in Banihal.

SHO Police Station Banihal Inspector Ashiq Shah Bukhari confirmed the incident and said the driver involved in the accident was arrested. A case FIR, number 75 of 2024 under section 279/ 304 –A, IPC, was registered at Police Station Banihal for further investigations.

A middle aged man lost his life after an auto he was driving met with accident at Bufliyaz Dabdiyan in Surankote sub division of Poonch.

Accident took place when a Tata Magic auto JK12B 5746 plying on Bufliyaz road plunged in roadside gorge. Police officials said that the driver of vehicle was alone in the vehicle who lost his life in the accident. The deceased was identified as Mohd Naseer Khan son of Mohammad Younis resident of Bufliaz.
