BJP running away from assembly elections due to fear of losing : Solanki

Majalta ( Udhampur), Jan 19: Senior Congress leader and Incharge J&K Affairs Bharatsinh Solanki today said that BJP is running away from assembly and other local elections due to fear of badly losing.

He alleged that by doing so BJP is depriving the people in Jammu and Kashmir of their basic democratic rights. Solanki added that BJP has snatched the statehood, land and jobs of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and it is time to repay them for injustice to the people.

   

According to a press release, he was addressing a gathering of party workers here. Solanki said that BJP cancelled all elections right from local bodies and panchayats, after losing the Kargil hill council development elections. “Nobody knows when overdue assembly elections will be held despite the Supreme Court direction to hold assembly elections by September 30, 2024,”he said.

Addressing the workers JKPCC President Vikar Rasool urged the people to rise against the wrong policies of the BJP government. He appealed the masses to vote for real issues being faced by the he people of country and reject BJP’s divisive tactics. Waani said that BJP has given miseries to the people of Jammu and Kashmir by snatching their rights and jobs and lands. “There is large scale unemployment and joblessness while the resources are being looted ruthlessly depriving locals of their livelihood and safe environment. There is no participation of local stakeholders and all major projects are with outside contractors at the cost of local contractors,”he said.

Senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla targeted BJP for the wholesale opening of liquor shops in the city of temples and elsewhere for which youth are falling prey easily. The educated youth are without jobs and number of recruitment scams were witnessed, he alleged and said that BJP has only given lip service to Jammu people whereas their rights have been bartered for political interests.

Former deputy chief minister Tara chand said that people of J&K have been deprived of their rights to land and jobs besides downgrading the Dogra state,” thus snatching our basic identity.”
