Srinagar, June 5: Green Valley Educational Institute (GVEI) students emerged as champions in both the Under-14 and Under-17 categories at the zonal district-level chess competition.
Their outstanding performance brought glory to their school and established Zone Gulabagh as the overall champion in both categories.
The champions of the inter-zone competition are Ayesha Sajad Shalla of class 6th, Maiera of class 7 and Taiuba Altaf of class 9th
“These young chess prodigies demonstrated exceptional skill and strategic acumen, showcasing the high calibre of talent nurtured at Green Valley Educational Institute,” the school handout reads.
It reads that their achievements have brought immense pride to both the school and the entire Zone Gulabagh.
“The success of Ayesha Sajad Shalla, Maiera, and Taiuba Altaf highlights the commitment and dedication of the students and their mentors,” it reads.
Chairman GVEI Mohammad Yousuf Wani said that the students’ victory was a testament to the comprehensive training and support provided by the school to ensure that students excel academically and in extracurricular activities.
