PM Modi asserts commitment to AI growth, responsible leadership

New Delhi, Dec 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to LinkedIn to express his enthusiasm for the upcoming Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) Summit 2023, scheduled to commence on December 12.

In his LinkedIn post, the Prime Minister extended a warm invitation to all, underscoring the importance of the summit as a platform for celebrating AI advancements and innovation.

   

In his LinkedIn message, Prime Minister Modi reflected on the swift pace of innovation that has turned once-fanciful ideas into reality, driven by a new generation of bright young minds.

With India’s youthful population, robust startup ecosystem, and skilled workforce, the Prime Minister emphasized the country’s potential to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of AI.

India’s commitment to contributing scalable, secure, affordable, sustainable, and replicable AI solutions globally was highlighted. The Prime Minister drew attention to India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) initiative, showcasing the nation’s achievements in leveraging technology for progress.

He emphasized India’s goal to empower citizens in sectors like language services, personalized education, accessible healthcare, and informed agriculture through AI.

The Prime Minister reiterated India’s commitment to growth, innovation, and leadership, emphasizing an inclusive model to ensure that no one is left behind. India’s active participation in the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI), of which it is a co-founder, was underscored as a testament to its commitment to responsible AI development.

Since joining GPAI in June 2020, India has played a significant role in promoting the responsible development, deployment, and adoption of open, safe, secure, and accountable AI. The country’s election to GPAI’s Council in November 2022 reaffirms its dedication to Safe and trusted AI.

As the Lead Chair of GPAI, India is dedicated to utilizing technology, especially AI, for the welfare of people, ensuring that AI benefits are not limited to a few nations.

The Prime Minister highlighted India’s commitment to establishing a regulatory framework for Safe and Trusted AI and fostering collaboration among nations for widespread and enduring implementation.

The upcoming GPAI Summit promises engaging sessions, including the AI Expo featuring 150 startups showcasing their strengths. Prime Minister Modi urged everyone to be part of this fascinating program, embracing the transformative power of AI and innovation on a global scale.
