US Air Force member dies after setting himself on fire outside Israeli Embassy

Man dies in Mughal Road mishap

New Delhi, Feb 26: A 25-year-old active-duty member of the U.S. Air Force, Aaron Bushnell from San Antonio, Texas, died after setting himself on fire outside the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C. Bushnell, declaring that he “will no longer be complicit in genocide,” began live streaming the event on the video streaming platform Twitch shortly before 1 pm on Sunday, the media reported.

Law enforcement officials reported that Bushnell started the live stream, and then proceeded to douse himself in accelerant and ignite the flames.

Despite efforts to intervene, Bushnell sustained fatal injuries and succumbed to them in the hospital.

This tragic event follows a similar incident in December when an individual self-immolated outside the Israeli consulate in Atlanta, using gasoline as an accelerant. The act, believed to be an extreme political protest, was accompanied by the presence of a Palestinian flag at the scene.
