Awareness programmes on Fire Safety held in Srinagar

Srinagar, Apr 20: As the Fire Service Week concluded on Saturday, the Department of Fire and Emergency Service (F&ES) conducted a drawing competition for school children at the Fire Services Headquarters at Batamaloo here.

Officials said that various schools across Srinagar participated in the competition and displayed their creative skills in the context of Fire Service Week.

   

They said the conclusion of Fire Service Week 2024 culminated in a vibrant display of creativity and commitment to fire safety as the drawing competition took center stage at the Fire Headquarters Batamaloo. An official said, under the guidance of the Director of Fire and Emergency Services, the event was organized in collaboration with the School Education Department.”

They said students from various schools participated, and the competition served as a platform to engage and educate the youth on the importance of fire safety measures in our communities.

Deputy Director F&ES Srinagar, Aqib Hussain Mir said that over the week, various programs were held to impart awareness about fire safety. He said the aim of every program, including the drawing competition, was to ensure that young students can be part of our awareness program and learn about its importance from a young age.

“Learning things through art is the best way to educate the young students. All the drawings that they made were related to fire safety and awareness in one way or another. We will continue to hold awareness programs in the coming months so that everyone will be educated on the issue,” Mir said.

Following the competition, an award ceremony was held to recognize the exemplary performers. The best performers were honored with suitable cash prizes and certificates, acknowledging their outstanding contributions to raising awareness about fire safety.
