GVEI Srinagar celebrates ATL Community Day

Srinagar, Apr 20:The Green Valley Educational Institute (GVEI) Saturday celebrated the Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) Community Day.
The event was organised at ATL to expand the horizons of learning and knowledge beyond conventional school boundaries.

As per the handout issued here, GVEI ATL hosted approximately 50 students from non-ATL schools in the region, embracing the spirit of inclusivity and equal opportunity.
The event commenced with an inaugural address by Principal GVEI M D Zargar who emphasised that the goal of the event was to foster innovation among young minds from non-ATL schools and the local community.

   

Former HoD Physics NIT Srinagar, M A Shah was the chief guest at the occasion.
Speaking at the occasion, he commended the role of ATL in nurturing curiosity, creativity, and imagination among youth. He emphasised the significance of ATL in cultivating a design mindset, computational thinking, and adaptive learning skills among young scientists.

“The ATL model should be adopted across all laboratories to encourage learning driven by curiosity,” he said.
Students from various schools, including Government Boys Higher Secondary Soura, Government Girls Higher Secondary Soura, Government Higher Secondary School Gulab Bagh, and Kashmir Harvard Educational Institute, participated in the event and shared their innovative ideas.

During the event, students from GVEI showcased impressive projects, including a smart rain cover for two-wheelers, electricity generation from roads, an e-care room for bedridden patients, smart street lighting solutions, a dog repellent stick, and carbon dioxide-based electricity generation.
At the occasion, Aqid Farooq Shah, an alumnus of GVEI was awarded for his exceptional contributions to ATL, embodying the spirit of innovation at Green Valley Educational Institute.

Chairman GVEI Muhammad Yousuf Wani in his address emphasized the transformative impact of ATL initiatives in empowering young minds.
He pledged GVEI’s commitment to kindling passion for innovation among students, extending the ATL’s reach to non-ATL schools.
