Write fictional stories after your defeat: Sajad Lone to Omar Abdullah

Srinagar, Apr 14:  People’s Conference President Sajad Gani Lone Sunday suggested to National Conference (NC) Vice President Omar Abdullah to “become a fiction writer after he is defeated in Lok Sabha polls since he is good at cooking up baseless and fictitious stories.” Lone was talking to media persons after a party function here. Both Omar and Lone are contesting Lok Sabha polls from Baramulla constituency.

Recently the NC Vice President at a press conference had alleged that the People’s Conference President is being supported by BJP and New Delhi in the Baramulla constituency. Omar in this connection had also referred to a meeting between Lone, BJP leader Tarun Chugh and Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari at the latter’s residence here recently.

When asked about Omar’s allegations, Lone said, “Okay I met him. Meeting somebody does not mean that you are working on his direction or reached some kind of agreement with him or they are supporting you. You meet so many people in life, does that mean you support each other or they support you? I could have lodged an FIR and asked them (NC) where in the video clip, they uploaded on social media, is my car. But I do not want that,” the People’s Conference President said. He added, “Recently I also heard that Omar Abdullah had gone to the Home Minister 10 days back and begged him to exempt them from the J&K Cricket Association scam. I also heard that earlier, Dr Farooq Abdullah had gone begging them to take NC into NDA and that he was told to announce his wish first through TV channels and which he did.” Lone stated that he would respond “to all baseless allegations” of Omar soon at a press conference. “I have not yet fully listened to what he had said at his press conference,” the People’s Conference President said.

Lone asked NC leadership not to sermonise him and told them to sermonise somebody else instead of him.

“I am among the majority who are victims of the NC-BJP alliance. I was jailed and tortured and my father was killed. My 72-year-old father was dragged out in Jammu and assaulted by a Shiv Sena man from Maharashtra, who was provided Z Plus security by the Dr Farooq Abdullah government. They had an alliance with Shiv Sena at that time,” he said.

The People’s Conference leader alleged that Omar Abdullah as Minister of State for External Affairs defended everywhere the human rights violations in Kashmir and claimed that everything was alright in Kashmir.

“NC government made Public Safety Act, implemented PoTA, killed thousands of people during their rule and today you are seeing graveyards of these people in every village. Blood is on their hands and not mine. They jailed thousands of people. Omar and his party leadership are among the minority, which committed every kind of atrocities on the people of Kashmir,” he said.

Lone described Omar as a tourist in the Baramulla Lok Sabha constituency and said that he is very much hopeful of defeating him with the support of the people.

“After his defeat, he will become idle and he must write fiction stories as he is very good at it,” he said. Asked about the election manifesto released by BJP today, the People’s Conference President demanded the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir at the earliest saying it is highly important.
