BJP candidate Tashi Gyalson files nomination papers for Ladakh

Ganderbal, May 1: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Tashi Gyalson Wednesday filed his nomination papers for the Ladakh Lok Sabha seat.

 

   

Accompanied by senior party leaders, Gyalson filed his nomination papers before the Returning Officer for 01-Ladakh Lok Sabha seat, Santosh Sukhadeve, in Leh.

 

During the filing of his nomination papers, Gyalson was accompanied by BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul, former minister and senior BJP leader Sat Sharma, and other party workers and supporters who had gathered in large numbers.

 

However, sitting Member of Parliament Jamyang Tsering Namgyal remained absent.

 

On the occasion, Gyalson said that he met senior leaders in Leh including MP Namgyal who wished him the best.

 

He said that all the differences would be sorted out within the next few days and BJP would jointly carry out campaigning for the election.

 

Gyalson said that apart from the development, his priorities would be to resume the dialogue process with the Centre to address all issues concerning Ladakh.

Earlier, BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul addressed a crucial meeting of office bearers from Ladakh to discuss and formulate the election strategy for the parliamentary polls at the BJP Headquarters in Leh.

 

Koul asked the party cadre to reach out to all voters, especially women and youth to disseminate information about the party’s mission and policies so that the misleading campaigns aired by the opposition were warded off successfully.

 

He called for ensuring maximum voting on the poll day and said that it was important to bring voters to the polling booths.

 

Sat Sharma, Chaudhary Randhawa, Tashi Gyalson, President BJP Ladakh Phunchok Stanzin, BJP District President Leh Tashi Gyaltsan Kachu, and BJP Election Committee Incharge Gorjay Angchuk also attended the meeting.

 

Meanwhile, National Conference (NC) and Congress alliance has finalised the name of Haji Hanifa Jan as the joint candidate for the Ladakh Lok Sabha seat.
