Srinagar, Apr 29: The Jammu and Kashmir United Movement (JKUM) led by former MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar has announced his support for Apni Party’s parliamentary candidate for the Srinagar constituency, Mohammad Ashraf Mir.
Ishfaq Jabbar made this announcement during a press conference here on Monday. Apni Party’s Senior Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir, and Provincial President Mohammad Ashraf Mir, who is the party’s candidate for the Srinagar Parliamentary seat, was also present.
“Fighting polls separately will obviously benefit those who have pushed people of Jammu and Kashmir into immense trouble. We have decided to fight polls jointly and pitch for restoration of statehood, end to others issues,” Ishfaq Jabbar said. He added that Apni Party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari had requested “us to join hands for the greater cause of Jammu and Kashmir, and we obeyed the call” “After consultations with my party workers, We have decided to support the candidate from the Apni Party in the Lok Sabha elections for the Srinagar constituency.
