LS POLLS-2024 | BJP opted out of race sensing imminent drubbing at NC hands: Farooq Abdullah

Srinagar, Apr 28:  National Conference (NC) President Farooq Abdullah Sunday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party and their proxies were feeling the heat on seeing massive support for the NC.

Addressing a workers convention in Channapora, the NC president said, “INDIA bloc will win all six Lok Sabha seats in J&K and Ladakh. BJP has developed cold feet and has opted out of the race sensing an imminent drubbing at the hands of NC. It’s hiding behind proxies but that won’t work. Be it Lok Sabha elections or assembly polls, new records are being made due to your hard work. I am happy to see your enthusiasm but seeing your enthusiasm, other party leaders develop cold feet.”

The three-time chief minister said that the BJP had not been able to win hearts in Kashmir and the decisions made in 2019 had angered and alienated people in the Valley.

“The BJP has not left the field open. Some parties are being helped behind the scenes by the BJP. People need to know who is playing this game here. It will be known who is conniving with whom and who is involved in conspiracies against J&K, weakening the voice here, and helping BJP to succeed,” he said. “The decision has to be taken by the voter. We were deceived and humiliated. If not by any other means, at least, through our votes we should raise our voices. It is a big opportunity for the voters in Srinagar to fill the political vacuum that has developed here.”

Abdullah said that sensing an imminent drubbing, the BJP and their leadership was again stocking fear and playing the communal card.

“However people are asking BJP questions on employment, development, and progress. But their progress report is blank. You cannot feed the people with communal sentiments indefinitely. Our youth want jobs, our elderly want better healthcare, and our mothers and sisters want better services. People are fed up with BJP and are ready to teach them a lesson in the ongoing polls. Udhampur and Jammu have spoken in one voice and rejected BJP. Now it’s the time for the people of Kashmir to answer in one voice against BJP proxies and minions here,” he said.

Earlier in the day, NC candidate Syed Aga Ruhullah addressed an election rally in Chadoora.
