Jammu, Apr 27: Some unidentified motorcycle borne gunmen on Saturday evening fired several shots inside a sweet shop in Miran Sahib area on the outskirts of Jammu, officials said.
The incident took place inside the Khajuria sweet shop even as the officials said that this might be a case of ransom.
Quoting a police officer, news agency KNO reported that after receiving information about a firing incident inside a sweet shop, a police team was immediately rushed to the spot to bring the situation under control.
“A local leader of a political party was involved in the incident,” said the officer without identifying the leader or the political party.
Locals said that two people had arrived at the sweet shop on a motor bike and fired then fled from the area. No one was injured in this incident, they said.
Meanwhile, Police said that a locally made weapon (Katta) was used in this act.
