Two persons injured in bear attack in south Kashmir’s Anantnag

Srinagar, April 20:Two persons were injured after they were attacked by a bear in Dooru area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday.

Quoting an official, news agency Kashmir Scroll said that a bear appeared in village Chairkadi Dooru near forest and attacked two people.

   

The injured people were identified as Ab. Rashid son of Mohd Yousuf Hajam, resident of Kapran at present Dooru, and Bashir Ahmad Wagay son of Gh Hassan Wagay, resident of Agnoo.

Both the injured were later taken to a hospital in Dooru from where one of them Ab Rashid Hajam has been referred to Srinagar for further treatment.

Meanwhile the officials from the wildlife department have reached the spot and are looking for the bear.

On Thursday, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri asked officials for a coordinated effort to tackle the human-wildlife-conflict.
