NC, PDP observed silence in parliament on Article 370 abrogation: Altaf Bukhari

Awantipora, Apr 30:   Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari Tuesday criticised National Conference (NC) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leaders for going mute in parliament on the abrogation of Article 370.

“National Conference had three members in Lok Sabha? Did they speak when the article 370 and 35-A were abrogated? Did they resign, “asked Bukhari while addressing a public rally at Goripora, Awantipora village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

He said that PDP’s two Rajya Sabha member also remained silent. “They only tore their shirts and no body knows how much money they collected for this act”, Bukhari said. He said that both these parties failed to secure the release of incarcerated youth.

“Have they released any youth from jail or initiated any developmental project,” Bukhari asked. He criticised the PDP’s Lok Sabha candidate for Srinagar Waheed Parra for receiving money from the youth for jobs. “A youth from Pulwama is now seeking votes. He has scams against him. Will he save himself or represent you, ” Bukhari said.

Castigating former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for sewing an alliance with Bhartiya Janta Party

(BJP), The Apni Party President said, “Now she is saying that these polls are not for electricity and roads but for the dignity of people. Where this dignity had gone when she formed the government with BJP. They had sought votes to prevent BJP, but then allied with it within 24 hours,”he said.

He blamed the PDP for killing 200 youth in 2016. “That was not a law and order problem, but an administrative failure,” Bukhari said. He said that people would not forget the toffee remark of Mehooba she made in presence of the then Union Home Minister.  “And now she asks people to send her to parliament to raise their voice,” Bukhari said. He said that she was twice the member of parliament, but she spoke merely a few times.” If she had delivered at least 10 speeches, I think I would consider leaving politics,Apni Party President said.

Without directly naming the Jamat-e-Islamia, Bukahri said that the symbol of pen and inkpot was the identity of that organisation “and the PDP tried in the same way with the support of the same organisation”. “But then what she (Mehbooba) did to them. Today when we are saying that ban should be lifted from such religious organisations, she is criticising us,” Bukhari said.

He said that there were various issues before the people including the issue of regularisation of daily wagers and they could be resolved only if there was a change.

“And this change should start from the parliament elections,” Bukhari said.
