J&K shines at 67th SGFI National Roller Skating Championship in MP

Srinagar, Apr 15: The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has brought immense pride to the nation by emerging as the overall second runner-up at the prestigious 67th SGFI National Roller Skating Championship held in Satna, Madhya Pradesh.

The young skating talents from JK UT showcased their exceptional skills and determination, securing a remarkable haul of 21 medals, including 9 gold, 6 silver, and 6 bronze.

   

The championship witnessed fierce competition among the best skaters from across the country, but the J&K contingent proved their mettle, leaving an indelible mark on the national stage.

Under-19 Boys: Ranveer Shan led the charge with his outstanding performance, clinching 1 gold and 2 silver medals. Rajveer Singh and Samarjot Singh added to the tally with 2 gold and 1 gold and 1 silver medal, respectively.

Under-19 Girls: Nivriti Sharma secured a well-deserved silver medal in her category.

Under-17 Boys: Udhay Narayan showcased his talent by winning 1 gold and 1 silver medal.

Under-17 Girls: Prageet Kour etched her name in the record books with a bronze medal.

Under-14 Boys: Abhinav Bakshi emerged as a force to be reckoned with, bagging 1 gold and 1 bronze medal. Puneesh Puri added another gold to the tally, while Dharun Sharma claimed a silver.

Under-14 Girls: Tamana Saini stole the spotlight with her phenomenal performance, securing 2 gold and 1 bronze medal. Saanvi Grover complemented her efforts with a silver medal.

Under-11 Boys: Tabish Haider and Adwait Sharma both contributed with a bronze medal each to JK UT’s impressive medal haul.

The outstanding achievement of the JK UT skaters at the national level has ignited a sense of pride and joy throughout the Union Territory. The resilience, hard work, and unwavering dedication of these young athletes have proven that talent knows no boundaries, and with the right support and guidance, they can conquer any challenge.

The J&K Sports Council and the coaching staff have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the skaters for their remarkable performance, which has put Jammu and Kashmir on the national sporting map.
